Can pregnant women receive anesthesia?

In the first trimester of pregnancy, anesthesia is not recommended. Painful treatments during this period are avoided and the simplest methods are used to prevent the occurrence of pain and postpone the treatment in later pregnancy. In the following trimesters, anesthesia can be obtained, provided that the pregnant woman is normal. The type and dosage is determined by the doctor of dentistry, according to the anamnesis, and in specific cases also in consultation with the patient’s gynecologist.
