Crowns are a replacement for the visible, white part of the teeth that, due to massive damage, must be replaced with new, porcelain teeth. Crowns are ideal for teeth with significant damage or fillings that represent a large portion of the tooth. These situations can lead to tooth breakage and extraction, so it is best to replace them with a porcelain crown, which increases the life of the tooth and improves its stability.
Manufacturing process
First stage : Preparation of the tooth, which involves scraping or preparing the tooth in an impression form. For already “dead” teeth, the process is painless and does not require anesthesia. For live teeth, local anesthesia is used to make the process painless. This stage also includes taking impressions and making a temporary crown.
Second stage : After a few days, a trial is made on the base of the crown to ensure accuracy and fit.
Third phase : Trial of the porcelain crown. In the case of high-precision fabrications, we can immediately cement the finished crown in the same visit.
Types of crowns
Metal-porcelain crowns : These crowns are made of a metal base covered with porcelain. Because of the metal base, they are more often used for back teeth. The metal base provides strength and stability, while the porcelain provides natural color.
Metal-free ceramic crowns : These crowns do not contain metal and are made of metal-free ceramics that faithfully reflect the natural color and appearance of teeth. They are suitable for front teeth due to their high aesthetics.
Manufacturing Process
There is a minimum time required for the fabrication of the crowns, which depends on the complexity of the prosthetic fabrication. When it comes to quality, we provide expertise, superior material selection and precision work from our laboratory. Our crowns blend naturally with the surrounding soft dental tissues, do not damage the gingiva and create a harmonious whole with the surrounding tissues in the mouth.
