Implanto-prosthetic cases

What are implanto-prosthetic cases?

Implant-prosthetic cases are the instances when people have lost multiple teeth and cannot accept fixed bridges or mobile prostheses. The solution in these cases is dental implants. For these cases, planning includes: a detailed history, analysis of the remaining teeth, directions for appropriate X-ray imaging and initial photographs. Sometimes it happens that computed tomography of the jaws – CBCT) is also needed.

Work process in implanto-prosthetic cases

During the initial consultation at VEGA, the doctor makes a detailed analysis and a therapy plan that is presented to the patient. At least two options are always offered, and the best one is decided together. After the patient’s consent, the phase of remediating existing infections, extracting hopeless teeth, and reconstructing the bone by implanting artificial bone and grafting gingiva begins.

The next stage involves the placement of implants and sometimes re-reconstruction of the bone and gingiva, if necessary for the success of the therapy. Basic healing takes about a week until the sutures are removed. Sometimes, after a month, a temporary prosthetic solution is made until the tissue becomes strong enough for permanent loading.

The permanent prosthetic solution is made one to three months after the implantation of the implants. The first stage begins with the placement of special sulcusformers, which shape the palate around the implants to look natural. Then a superstructure is placed on top of the implant, which replaces the scraped tooth and is the carrier of the future crown, bridge or prosthesis.

The doctor at VEGA will help in choosing the most suitable material for prosthetic fabrication. At this stage, the healed implants are used to make permanent prosthetic solutions such as fixed bridges, hybrid bridges or prostheses attached to implants, restoring the function and aesthetics of the dentition.

After this reconstructive phase, patients are trained on how to maintain oral hygiene and when to come for a check-up, entering the safe zone of regular check-ups provided by the VEGA doctor’s assessment.
