Caries is a dominant disease of the teeth in which the dental tissue is destroyed. Becoming hollow and weak, the tooth is susceptible to breakage, which leads to the loss of even more tooth substance. Cavities are treated by removing them, protecting the pulp (ie the core of the tooth known as the ‘nerve’) and replacing the lost parts of the tooth with nano-composite fillings, known as ‘fillings’.
They are made from a combination of resin and nanoparticles, which are very small, usually less than 100 nanometers. These nanoparticles can be made of different materials, such as silicon dioxide, zirconium oxide or other ceramic particles.
In our office, we use only the latest generation of nano-composite fillings, which contain porcelain particles. These seals are strong, durable and the specific way of applying the filling makes it impossible for the seal to fall out. Properly placed nano-composite fillings cannot fall out, cause new caries, or irritate the gingiva.
At VEGA, we use a whole system of steps and equipment when filling teeth, which achieves high dental standards. This allows the teeth to return to their normal function and shape. Depending on their size, tooth position and lifestyle habits, these fillings can last more than a decade and then be replaced with new ones.
The filling procedure is painless and relatively short. If there is a need for local anesthesia, it makes the intervention painless and quick. It is interesting that young people, who in their experience only have fillings with local anesthesia, do not perceive the dental intervention for tooth filling as a negative experience. They do not perceive dentistry in the same way as some older generations, thanks to modern anesthesia.
Our team at VEGA is dedicated to providing the highest standards in dental care. By using modern materials and techniques, we ensure that your teeth will be healthy and functional.
